Housing for Homeless People

If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness within two months, this authority has a responsibility to provide you with housing information, advice and assistance according the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001. This provision will remain the responsibility of the Council after the transfer of housing stock to the Scottish Borders Housing Forum. If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness within the next two months you should contact the Housing Advice, Support and Mediation Services team on one of the following telephone numbers.

The homeless officer will arrange an housing interview, which you must make sure you attend. They will provide you with accommodation where appropriate and give you advice and information designed to increase your housing options.
