Association Ltd
Formerly Kirk Care Housing Association Ltd and established in 1973 to
provide specialist housing for older people where their existing accommodation
was no longer suitable or appropriate. The association is a major provider
of housing for older people and others in need throughout Scotland.
The majority of Trust's accommodation is in the form of sheltered
developments, with a resident warden. They also have smaller numbers
of amenity properties and care housing, and a growing number of very
sheltered
housing and family houses for rent and shared ownership. Within the Borders
area Trust has a total of 85 properties, with sheltered developments
in Chirnside, Galashiels and Lauder, and a number of very sheltered properties
in Galashiels.
The association has an ongoing development programme to ensure that
new homes are built throughout Scotland to meet housing need.
Trust's Housing Management Department is responsible for allocating
the Association's properties. Properties are allocated on the basis
of
need, regardless of an applicant's race, colour, religion etc.
